Rande's Story
Life
VERY happily married to LaTrelle Lee. (Ribault c/o'67.) We have one daughter and 3 precious grandaughters. They currently reside in Jacksonville also. Lived in San Marco section of Jax from '93 till '04. Moved out off the Nassau River for 4 years but missed the San Marco charm. After 7 years on River oaks we yearned for waterfront.... live on Little PottsBurg Creek... LOVE IT !!!!!.
Retired from BellSouth in 2002 with 32+ years and keep busy doing volunteer work through several local non-prof organizations, and of course maintaining a database of our class with a Memorial Section. It's a Class Directory which includes the names of EVERY member of our great c/o '65. Contains Email addresses, street addresses and contact numbers on 180 at last count. Our class was well over 350 so, as you can see, many more remain "lost". Actually started building it 2 years before our 40th reunion, and it continues to grow. Of course the BIG project right now is the Fletcher ALL-CLASS REUNION set for May 12th, 2012. As chairman, I am busy working to make it the largest ever...but enjoying every minute of it!
I am ALWAYS looking for leads on "lost" classmates to follow up on. If you are not already receiving th...Expand for more
e Class Directory along with the Memorial Page...I need to hear from you! I want to send it to you. Also, if you have ANY leads I can follow up on or have email/snailmail addresses, please correspond with me via my email address.
Workplace
I retired from BellSouth in October of '02. Started with company as a Lineman in Orlando in '70. Supervised field techs in Melbourne followed by Ofc Mgr. for 3 years in Daytona Beach. Returned to Jax in '81 as Regional Mgr. I finished my career in '02 as Corporate & External Affairs Regional Mgr. for the Northeast Florida area. Semi-retired now since I currently serve on 5 community boards in the First Coast area. Had a GREAT career with Ma Bell and would do it all over again!!!!
Military
Last base was McCoy AFB in Orlando. Bases included Luke in Arizona, Bien Hoa in So. V. N. (Oct 66-Oct 67). McCoy AFB was stateside base with two additional TDY's in late 60's. 1st to Kadena AFB, Okinawa w/B-52's and then Guam with same. Left behind all that wonderful military chow and the free world travel in December of 1969. Wouldn't trade the experience for ANYTHING....I firmly believe EVERY American male should serve at least 2 years in the military. God Bless America!!!
